Product Description
- Power Gain: 30hp
- Torque Gain: 38ft-lbs
The Speed-Buster Tuning Module is a plug-and-play piggyback box that increases boost on the N20 engine. By sending modified signals back to the engine computer, the Speed-Buster tricks the computer into safely raising the boost. And with careful programming of operational tables, the Power Module doesn't trigger torque limiters, monitors, or limp mode, which means safe power that won't kill your engine - or warranty! Inside the Speed-Buster module is a sophisticated programming module, tuned specifically for the N20 engine on Speed-Buster's MAHA dyno. All development, tuning, and production are done in-house at their German facility. Speed-Buster's programming works seamlessly with the factory ECU to give an impressive increase in power with factory-levels of driveability and smoothness. All factory overboost protections remain in place and the system can be uninstalled at any time.
The Injen Evolution intake fits with our belief that solid engineering and testing produces the best performance. Injen engineers design their intakes to carefully manage air velocity and air pressure using the Venturi Effect and velocity stacks. They also used the largest filter they could fit in the stock locations. With greater surface area and better flow there is more air available to make more power. Not only were we impressed with the quality and fitment of this intake but it actually made power: +15hp / +16ft-lbs of torque on the BimmerWorld dyno.
With more boost comes more heat and the larger CSF front mount intercooler (FMIC) for the F22 228i does a better job of cooling the intake air but is also less prone to heat soak and can recover faster than the smaller stock intercooler. This is hugely beneficial when running more boost as the cooler intake air will not trigger fault codes, limp mode, or reduce power. The CSF F32 intercooler is the best choice for an FMIC that is easy to install and returns excellent results. While power gains have been seen from the FMIC by itself they are hard to replicate on the dyno so our power claims are likely conservative.
