This lightweight, high-quality stainless system sets the standard for maximizing power from your E36 6-cylinder track machine. Our front Y-Pipe works in concert with your stock manifolds to simulate an equal-length system resulting in noticeable power gains versus typical performance exhausts we've tested.When you want the most power out of your E36, the stock twin-pipe configuration simply doesn't cut it. We see a lot of cars that have transitioned from street to track use with nice aftermarket rear mufflers and even non-catted center sections. Yet while lighter than stock and better in a streetcar sense, this layout limits the power and performance of your car. Great street performance parts don't always make great race parts, and we can often do much better with a dedicated track design.
Now we have the BimmerWorld E36 Race Exhaust System. Made of thinner walled stainless tubing in a single 3" pipe design, weight is significantly reduced, even versus stainless aftermarket street parts. The 3" configuration also serves to maximize horsepower output as accelerating in traffic won't be a concern when you're wringing out the engine at the racetrack.
This System includes both a mid-section resonator and straight pipe, to reduce or increase volume as needed to meet sound limits or personal preference. V-band clamps are used throughout to make swapping out pieces or dropping the exhaust for maintenance or trackside repairs fast and easy - once installed, this exhaust can come off for typical work in minutes.
This exhaust weighs in at only 28 lbs with the resonator -- and only 24 lbs with the straight pipe! (Wow!) This is a substantial weight savings over stock as well as the typical stainless exhausts on the market.
This system connects with either our BimmerWorld Front Y-pipe or the Active Autowerkes long tube headers (or your own custom option. The Front Y-Pipe uses a proper racing merge collector, and primary legs that are designed to time exhaust gas pulses like a long-tube equal-length header when combined with factory exhaust manifolds.
Installation uses factory mounting points with the necessary hardware included. Fits all 6-cylinder E36 models, except 318ti chassis.
