The E46 Rear Subframe/Chassis Reinforcement Kit solves a problem that plagues the E46 3-series just as it did with the earlier E36 3-Series models. This kit is developed in-house at BimmerWorld and has more surface area and covers more of the problem areas than older competitor's kits.The rear subframe-to-chassis attachment points on the E46 are all failure prone and can rip away from the unibody after time. This can occur with regular road use, and if you drive your BMW E46 hard, then chances are very high that you'll need to repair this area at some point in the future. We highly recommend doing this modification to any car that sees autocross, driving schools, and race use BEFORE the damage occurs. Our E46 reinforcement plates are a factory fit and can be welded in when subframe bushings are replaced.
This kit applies to all BMW E46 cars, including the M3.

Note: We also highly recommend replacing your worn rubber subframe bushings with Powerflex polyurethane or solid aluminum mounts. Never reinstall worn stock rubber mounts. Powerflex uses Street (70A) or Black Series (95A) compound to suit your driving environment. Aluminum is full solid and recommended only for track and race vehicles. New, stiffer mounts will reduce the risk of chassis failure by keeping the subframe secure and not tearing at the chassis mount locations.
