Our lightweight, high-quality stainless exhaust system sets the standard for maximizing power from your E46 6-cylinder non-M track machine. Easy bolt-on installation. This is the required exhaust for all cars running in Spec E46. Kit includes Y-Pipe required for integration into E36 OBDII headers.Our BimmerWorld E46 Exhaust System by Magnaflow is the only choice when you want the most power out of your Non-M E46 track or race car. The stock twin-pipe (or even single in some models) configuration simply doesn't cut it. We see a lot of cars that have transitioned from street to dedicated track use, and while they have nice aftermarket rear mufflers and even center sections without cats, those lighter-than-stock systems may be nice for street cars, but the design limits the power and performance of your car. Great street performance parts don't always make great race parts, and we can often do much better with a dedicated track design.
The BimmerWorld E46 Non-M Race Exhaust System by Magnaflow is made of thinner-walled stainless 3" single pipe to significantly reduce weight, even when compared to stainless aftermarket street parts. The 3" configuration also serves to maximize horsepower output as accelerating in traffic won't be a concern when you're wringing the engine out at the racetrack.
This exhaust system includes both a mid-section resonator and straight pipe option, allowing you to reduce or increase volume as needed to meet sound limits. With the resonator installed, volume will typically be acceptable for more highly-restricted tracks such as Laguna Seca and Lime Rock, but environmental conditions and results may vary. V-band clamps are used throughout the system to make swapping out pieces or dropping the exhaust for maintenance or trackside repairs fast and easy - once installed, this exhaust can come off for typical work in minutes.
Included Y-pipe bolts directly to your self-supplied stock E36 exhaust manifolds, which remove the catalytic converter from your car without cutting and welding of your stock E46 parts. One O2 port is included for running a wideband sensor for data. The original post-cat O2 sensors can be removed, per Spec E46 rules and software tune. Our Y-pipe uses a proper racing merge collector, with primary legs designed in combination with factory E36 exhaust manifolds to simulate an equal-length header, which times exhaust pulses for improved scavenging and increased power.
Installation uses factory mounting points with necessary hardware included. This system was designed for the ZF 5-speed transmission, which is the most common in SE46. For this to work with the 6-speed you need to use the AAF transmission brace or the merge collector will need to be clearanced away from the factory transmission brace and the wideband O2 bung will be inaccessible.
