Product Description
Stainless steel rear brake lines for E9X 335d/335i/335xi models to upgrade the rear rubber lines on the E90/E92/E93 to Teflon/stainless.As in any performance application, replacing squishy rubber parts with a performance piece will increase response and feel - brakes are no different. Stock rubber brake hoses expand under pressure, requiring increased fluid volume and greater pedal travel for the desired stopping force. What is often misinterpreted as brake fade or fluid boiling can be the brake lines expanding under pressure. Our BimmerWorld Teflon/Braided Stainless Steel Brake Lines reduce this dramatically and greatly improve pedal feel.
BimmerWorld Stainless Brake Lines feature a non-expansive Teflon® center core, surrounded by braided stainless steel for durability and abrasion resistance. Lines are sheathed with a clear plastic cover for a clean look and to prevent debris from working into the stainless braids. The clear sheathing permits visual inspection of the lines to check for wear or discoloration (evidence of heat damage). Line ends are a heavy-duty steel with swaged line fittings that provide a secure connection. In our years of experience in racing and the performance BMW industry, we have seen several specific failures from typical stainless brake lines. Our fittings are designed to eliminate the common stress/failure point.
All of our BimmerWorld V3 lines are tested to at least 4,500psi, and tagged with our DOT approval number. The DOT stamp on each of our lines ensures that every line is made and tested to DOT standards, not just "made to DOT standards" or "DOT compliant" like many other brands.
NOTE: Like any car part or performance part, brake lines are not indestructible, and will age and fatigue. Extreme heat from track use will degrade all types of brake lines the quickest but there are other elements that will contribute to wear. To avoid serious injury, or worse, we recommend inspecting all brake components regularly and replacing lines every 100 hours of track use (typically 2-4 years). Also, never let the brake caliper hang from just the brake line.
FITMENT NOTE: these are the brake lines for both REAR axles and include all necessary brackets, grommets, and sealing washers. These are sold as an axle set for the rear calipers, such as when using a front BBK or replacing lines under a maintenance plan or from damage. Front lines and custom lines with AN fittings are also available - please inquire.
